Canvas Drop Cloth = Easy & Cheap Tablecloth

Drop cloths have way more use than just laying on a floor waiting for paint to splatter on it.  From headboard upholstery to curtains to tablecloths, it's an easy and affordable way to make a subtle statement in your home.  It has the look of linen but without the big price tag!  Here is one idea using it as a tablecloth...

Want to recreate this? Go to your local hardware store and head to the paint section. Look for the appropriate size for your table or project.  The cost of the drop cloth at my Home Depot was only $10.98!  I purchased the 6x9 size for my table.  I had a bit of overhang on my table but I liked it that way.  If you feel like there is too much overhang, you can always cut to size and sew up the hem or use hem tape.
It will be stiff when you get it out of the packaging but it's washable, which is another plus! Throwing in the in the wash will help to soften it.  You will have to iron it before putting it on your table but you have to do that with any table cloth anyway if you want it to look all crisp and clean!

To make your table landscape complete, go to a fabric store and pick up a few yards of Burlap.  Simply cut to desired size for an easy table runner.  Next add in some vintage books that you can stack up and put candle holders on.  Add other votive candles on the table for additional appeal.

Now get out the plates, silverware, napkins and glasses you are all set for your next gathering!!
