Main Bathroom Rehab

This bathroom had obviously not been touched since it's inception in 1960...pink paint, glass "privacy" wall and all.  It felt so great to get ALL of it out!

Many who tread on this floor initially think that it is wood...but it's affordable and waterproof sheet vinyl!  Find it at Mannington Flooring: http://www.mannington.com/Residential/Resilient/Better%20Jumpstart/Havana/71262.aspx

I love putting tile all the way up to the ceiling.  I feel like it really opens up the space and creates a larger looker shower area!  We used an 8x10 tile in Arctic White by Daltile

I found this wood piece at an antique store and thought is would make a great towel rack.  I used a block sander to get any chipped paint off.  I then used Wood Filler for any large holes or gashes in the wood. I then did a quick sand again over the wood fill.  For paint, I just used one of our many sample paints over the entire thing. I added knobs from World Market: http://www.worldmarket.com/product/bubble-glass-double-hook.do?&from=fn.  The towels are also from World Market.

  1. So beautiful! Such a transformation. My favorite parts are the tile and the repurposed towel rack.

  3. This floor looks amazing! We are purchasing a 120 year old farmhouse with floors that are not exactly even. I love this option. I am going to try to maintain the homes history, but update it with our modern touches. Love your blog

    1. Thanks Melissa! That'd be amazing if the wood floors were salvageable! Sorry to hear they are uneven :(. This floor is a great, affordable option if you can't or simply don't choose to work with the real thing!
