Raw Cacao Banana Shake



I keep several bags of sliced bananas in the freezer specifically for this shake/smoothis.  It's just that good.  I have to impress how this is so much better with frozen bananas.  Of course, it's still yummy with ones straight from the counter but the consistency is more like a thick ice cream shake with frozen.  With the almond butter and hemp seeds, this smoothie gives you upwards of close to 20 grams of protein.  I love to use peanut butter as well and, of course, any milk work. Great way to start off your day!   

The Ingredients:

1 Frozen Banana, sliced
1 Heaping Tablespoon Raw Cacao Powder (Unsweetened cocoa powder can be used as well.  Personally, I like cacao and it's health benefits:)
1/4 Cup Hemp Hearts (a.k.a raw shelled hemp seeds)
5 Ice cubes
1/2 Tablespoon Honey (more or less depending on your perferred sweetness)
1 Cup Almond Milk (may need to add more depending on thickness perferred)
2 Tablespoons Almond Butter (creamy or crunchy)

The Steps:

Add all ingredients in your blender and you are done.  We like to use our NutriBullet for this.  Enjoy!
