Sesame Ginger Meatballs
1 Large Egg
1/2 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
1 Tablespoon Bragg's Liquid Aminos, or your favorite soy sauce
1/2 Teaspoon Fish Sauce
1 Teaspoon Fresh Garlic, minced
1/2 Tablespoon Agave Syrup
1 Teaspoon Fresh Ginger, minced
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Fresh Ground Pepper
1/2 Tablespoon Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1 Teaspoon Roasted Red Chili Paste
1 1/2 lbs Lean Ground Beef or Turkey
1 1/2 Tablespoons Ground Flax Seed Meal
2/3 Cup Green Onions, thinly sliced
1/4 Cup Cilantro, chopped + 1 Tablespoon for garnish
Lime Wedges for garnish
Sesame Seeds for garnish
Makes about 20 meatballs
1) In a large mixing bowl, add in the egg and whisk. Add in the next 11 ingredients and combine.
Then add in the meat, flax seed meal, green onions, and 1/4 cup of Cilantro and mix thoroughly.
2) Form the meatballs and add to a large saute pan and cook over medium high heat. Brown on all sides.
3) Once the meatballs are browned, transfer them to a jelly roll pan. Place the pan in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15- 20 minutes until thoroughly cooked. Cut open one meatball to ensure all the pink is gone.
4) Serve over brown rice and garnish with cilantro and a lime wedge. You can also sprinkle sesame seeds over top as well. I did not have any at my house at the time but I would add that next time.
