Barn Door Baby Gate
Found this project via pinterest. There are a lot of similar ideas out there but this one I found to be so easily understandable. Plus, I give all the props to my husband on this one because I did not lift one finger on this project.

Instead of staining it though, we decided to paint it to match the color of our trim and molding throughout the house (Sherwin Williams, Alabaster in Semi-Gloss). And you might say that the opening on the bottom of the door looks really high. BUT, it only goes as high as our baseboard which is only 4 inches high. No one is getting under that!
We got this type of closure from Home Depot. It is the Everbilt Black Gate Latch for $4.24. The only tricky thing is that we couldn't open it from the back side, so my husband tied a string that drapes over the back so that you can pull and open it from the back.
