5-Spice Taco Mix

I haven't bought pre-mixed taco seasoning for a very, very long time.  It is so easy to make your own, plus you know that it won't have any extra fillers or ingredients mixed in.  You can easily double, triple, or quadruple the recipe so you always have it ready to go.  I find it just as easy to individually sprinkle out the spices per each meal.  When preparing 1 lb. of Ground Beef, for example, I will use the following...

The Ingredients:

1/2 Tablespoon Ancho Chili Powder
1/2 Tablespoon Cumin Powder
1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
Fresh Ground Pepper to taste

For Easy 20-Minute Taco Meat:

When the 1 lb of ground beef is partially browned, add the above spices, salt and fresh ground pepper to taste, 1/2 Tablespoon Dried Cilantro, along with 1/2 Cup heaping diced yellow onion, 1/2 cup Chicken Stock, and 1/2 Cup of water.  I cover the pan and simmer for about 15 minutes, then turn the heat up on high for about 3-5 minutes to reduce to liquid.  And you are done!

You'll never need to buy another pre-mixed packet of taco seasoning again!
